Ode to Roscoe |

Cavalier King Charles
Spaniel, his genetic code
"Happy
and playful, his permanent mode",
Black and white and full of
Life
Never bothered with bickering
or strife
Found on the highway then
given as a gift
To every heart he gave a great
lift
He came to Jack when the time
was right
And was never at peace with
him out of sight
He smiled at Nonna and won her
heart
He loved them both from the
very start
On the sofa with Nonna or on
the road with Jack
If there was nothing to do, he
just kicked back
He let me ride shotgun, though
it was his by right
Not one to complain, he was
never uptight
Legend says he was a good
judge of cattle
True or imagined - who's gonna
tattle?
He'd jump 3 feet straight up
to warn of danger
But I never once saw him meet
a stranger
Waiting and sleeping and
watching for Jack
Happily Knowing he'd always
come back
Hours on end he'd wait in the
truck
Fully aware of his own stroke
of luck....
To have a safe home and a
belly, full
To have a friend in Jack, life
was never dull
Parting with loved ones is
Life's hardest task
Especially with ones who gave
all we could ask
For this little life, the day
is done....
We'll cry and grieve with the
setting sun
But life goes on and so will
we
how else would Roscoe have it
be?
Jack will keep the very best
part
Of this special friend he
called, "Little Fart"
For Jack and Roscoe.......In
love and appreciation of the joy of our truest
friends.............truer friends, there never were!
